Shoefies: The New Fashion Term You Need to Know
What are shoefies? You’ve probably been snapping them long before the official fashion term (or hashtag) was coined.
A shoefie is a picture you take of yourself wearing shoes. This relatively new social media jargon is all about documenting one’s obsession for footwear that looks double-tap worthy.
Shoefies are usually taken at a high angle, be it while standing or sitting.
Some choose to shoot from a side angle.
There are also those who choose to snap couple and group shoefies.
Don’t be afraid to take your shoefie game to more artistic heights. Show off a little more than the chic heels or cool sneakers you’re wearing such as textured floors or picturesque scenery. Use props if you feel like it but remember that the focus should be on your shoe.
A shoefie should be easy enough to understand as it is along the same vein as a selfie. Alas, we found out that a lot of people are confused. To qualify as a shoefie, you (1) must be the one taking a photo of the shoes and (2) you have to be wearing them or at least one of them.
The following are examples of non-shoefies.
1) Photo of you wearing your shoes but taken by someone else
NOT a shoefie. You must be able to give yourself the photo credit.
2) Photo of you holding your shoe.
Not on your feet, NOT a shoefie.
3) Photo of your shoes on any surface
Your feet has to be in the shoes.
This growing fashion trend can be addicting. After all, what better way to show your great taste in shoes than with a shoefie? Happy snapping!
